Weddings are expensive. Like so expensive. I recently did a blog post on practical ways to save money on your wedding; check it out here! From the wedding dress to the venue and everything in between, there’s no denying your bank account will be suffering by the end of it.
Everything is more expensive when it’s for a wedding. It’s kind of crazy, but totally true. The bottom line is there are some things you just can’t control, like the cost of the venue itself, food, alcohol, etc. However, there are still many things that are in your control. Like the wedding favors! And when you have a tight budget, any cost savings, no matter how small, adds up! So today I decided to share a few affordable wedding favor ideas that I think are totally adorable and practical.
Anything Edible

Favors are very easily forgotten about, because oftentimes they aren’t all that practical. And sadly, people pay good money for a customized trinket you throw in your junk drawer and forget about. Hey, I’m just being honest. Food on the other hand, is always a hit! Whether it’s a small box of chocolates, or one of those adorable s’mores kits, edible favors are great because well, they’re edible! You know your guests will be using your favors and you can feel good about the money you spent. Plus, candies and other such goodies tend to be a much more affordable option.
Seed Packets

I received this favor at my cousin’s wedding last year and I thought it was adorable. Shout out to you, Caitlyn, if you’re reading this! It’s a practical gift that you can go home and use right away.
Coasters

Coasters are something I would really like to get. One thing you need to be careful of (and this pertains to all favors) is making sure you don’t go crazy on the personalization. No one wants something that says “Joe and Sally Forever and Ever” in giant letters. I would recommend keeping it tame, or even putting the name and wedding date on the back. Coasters are something you will use again and again. The best part? You can get customized paper coasters for just 25 cents each!
Beer/Wine Glasses

Personalized beer/wine glasses are a great wedding favor. Although these may not be as affordable as some of the other options, it’s something your guests will appreciate and be able to use for a long time.
Potted Succulents

Succulents are super trendy right now. You can easily DIY this favor to save some money. The plants can be bought in bulk and you can customize it however you’d like!
Wedding planning can be stressful. But it’s also fun and exciting! Matt and I haven’t decided on our favors yet; there’s just so many options!
I will keep you guys posted throughout this process, and if you have any other wedding favor ideas, feel free to leave a comment.
Thanks for stopping by!
xo, Jess
