The day I found out that Emmett died was the day I felt my world literally crashing down on me. My hopes and dreams were just that now: hopes and dreams. 🧡 My body was literally used as a casket for my own child. Talk about a mind f#@k 🧡 So, this is me painting my office the HAPPIEST, BRIGHTEST color I could possibly find. Some much needed light in my life right now 🧡🌈🤍

No one knew yet, but I was 8 weeks pregnant here.

No one knew yet, but I was 8 weeks pregnant here. I felt like crap the whole vacation but didn't want to tell anyone I was pregnant until I was 12 weeks along and in the "safe zone." 💙 I had to learn the hard way that in pregnancy there is no safe zone. Babies die. They shouldn't, but they do. And no one is immune. I had a picture perfect pregnancy until I didn't. One minute he was alive and the next he was dead. 💙 We have no concrete answers as to what happened to our perfect baby boy. He was 31 weeks gestation and a healthy 4 lbs 3oz. His autopsy came back perfectly normal. He was a healthy baby boy who died. 💙 To say I'm a changed person would be an enormous understatement. I'm a mom now. I've stared death in the face, and I've continued to live 💙 Grief is not something that goes away. I will never get over the death of my first child. But in time, my grief will change and evolve. Emmett will always be my first baby, no matter how many children I go on to have. 💙 He made me a mom, and for that I'm forever thankful.

These past 3 weeks have been a complete whirlwind. One minute we were planning for our sweet baby boy's arrival and the next we were grieving his death. 💔 Matt is and always will be my person.
